Playing for third-place in their division, the WA Swarm and Mountain West Storm met up on Sunday afternoon at Rosemont Ridge Middle School. After a sluggish start (the game was scoreless for the first four minutes), the Swarm caught fire, scoring 8 points in a minute and a half, before falling silent again, scoring only two more points in the next seven and a half minutes.
Meanwhile, the Storm were chipping away at their deficit, and with just under six minutes remaining in the half, they tied the game at 10 points before briefly taking a two point lead.
But with 3:55 left in the half, the Swarm hit their first shot in several minutes, tying the game at 12, and then retaking a lead that they would hold for the rest of the game. At halftime, the Swarm led by seven (28-21).
Throughout the second half, the Swarm continued to build on their lead, and with just over four minutes left in the game, they held a commanding 15-point lead (46-31). But the Storm continued to fight, and when the final buzzer sounded, the score was 49-37. Winner: WA Swarm.
